About the Architecture Award
This Architecture Award will be the first in the RWA’s 166 year history to celebrate architecture and design, and is the result of a renewed commitment to architecture in the RWA’s exhibition content following a partnership with the Architecture Centre. The new award sits alongside prestigious prizes including the Watercolour Prize, the Sculpture Prize and the Creativity Award. The recipient will be announced at the private view on the evening of Monday 15 October, hosted by the Architecture Centre and sponsored by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and Forbo Flooring.
José Garrido has been with Ian Ritchie Architects for 11 years, a leading team member on various award winning projects including the opera theatre at the Royal Academy of Music (RIBA London Building of the Year) and the redevelopment of Mercers Yard at Covent Garden.
