International Architecture Award 2019

The Royal Academy of Music’s new Susie Sainsbury Theatre and Angela Burgess Recital Hall has received an International Architecture Award 2019, the world’s largest, most prestigious global building awards programme organised by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

The award programme recognises excellence in architecture and urbanism and honours the best new and cutting edge design worldwide. The program also promotes international architecture and design to public audiences globally.

This year, the Museum received a record number of submissions for new buildings, landscape architecture, and urban planning from the most important firms practicing internationally. The 2019 Jury was held in Vilnius, Lithuania and our project, among others, was selected from a shortlist of 380 by a distinguished jury of Lithuanian architects.
