He will be speaking alongside architects Alison Brooks and Alex de Rijke.
Ian’s talk will explore some of the technical innovations his architectural practice and design engineering studio RFR have developed, and will then focus on the conceptual approach, design and technical development of the Royal Academy of Music’s new Susie Sainsbury Theatre and the Angela Burgess Recital Hall. The former is lined with cherry wood, both solid and veneer, and the latter with lime washed solid oak, with oak-steel flitch beams.
