Low-visual impact, low-energy and low maintenance accommodation ‘barns’ as part of a restoration programme of buildings at Rotherfield Estate.
The designs were conceived by our office through to planning permission. Ian Ritchie and Jocelyne Van den Bossche visited the completed buildings in August 2020. The smaller one is entirely clad in sinusoidal Corten A sheet, and accommodates 6 people, while the larger brick and tiled barn accommodates 8 people and was built upon the remains of a barn. Further projects are envisaged on the estate.
